William D. Barndollar

William D. Barndollar, 54, of Thonotosassa, Fla., formerly of Charleroi, died unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, in Shands Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. He was born Nov. 24, 1953, the son of Isabel "Issi" Giordanengo Barndollar, and the late William M. Barndollar. After graduating from Charleroi High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. In his spare time William enjoyed golf, bowling and fantasy football, and he was an avid Steelers fan. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Michael (Valerie) Barndollar, of Charleroi; one grandson, Dylan; a dear aunt, Lavernne Giordanengo; his companion, Barbara Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi (724-483-2231). The funeral home doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 17, at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Northey officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
