Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday September 4 at 10:00am with Elder James Abbott presiding. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Long Branch.

It seems just, like her grandfather Justice Abbott, that Viola pass on Labor Day, near the 17th of September, her birth1915. Her life spanned a century; the early part especially involved much labor:carrying groceries up over the hill through the woods, sometimes making 2 trips; baking loaves of bread weekly; gardening & canning; caring for younger sibs after her mother died; washing clothes by hand until she married August. He was missing in WWII for about a year until found by the Red Cross. Now she rests from her labors.

I wish that I could be there. I am thankful that I met Viola through a fortunate meeting of the Timlins and Viola's nephew at Mt Tabor Cemetery. I am thankful to be able to send pictures of Viola recently and when she was a child in front of the church. For copies, 617-275-1881
