Vernon "Skip" Reid

Vernon "Skip" Reid, 55, of Charleroi, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, in UPMC Shadyside. Born Feb. 23, 1956, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late Vernon R. and Sara J. Craig Reid. A 1974 graduate of Charleroi High School, Skip worked as a data processor for IKON Office Solutions in Pittsburgh. He was a die-hard country music fan, enjoyed reading comic books, watching sci-fi movies and programs on television and loved to cook. He is survived by a brother, Thomas Reid, in Santa Maria, Calif.; sisters, Karen Trettel and husband, Dan, of Darlington, Pa., and Gail Jones, of Moab, Utah; and six nieces and nephews. Arrangements were entrusted to the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
