Rita Haley Godlove, age 90, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was born to the late George and Elizabeth White Haley on May 15, 1925 in Roscoe, Pennsylvania. Rita married Dr. Lewis Godlove and was gifted a son. Later, she remarried Richard Ondy who also preceded her in death. Rita was a charter member of Nottingham Garden Club and volunteer of CONTACT Crisis Center. During World War II she worked on the Avenger aircraft for General Motors as a Final Assembly Inspector. During her career, she held positions with the State of New Jersey and ETS (Educational Testing Service) in both Hollywood and Princeton. Rita's passion and delight was her family. She was a first-born identical twin, and the last surviving of nine children. She was intensely devoted to her loved ones, and her loving support was constant and enduring. Rita adored to host and entertain, arranging all family gatherings and garden parties at her house. Rita appreciated each moment in time, but found her greatest pleasure celebrating her golden years traveling extensively with her sisters in the United States, and helping with their children. She enjoyed time in Memphis, TN, Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO, and Hollywood, CA. She spent a summer visiting Egypt, where the hosts wanted to keep her due to her indelible humor and gracious manners. Rita is survived by her son, Charles Haley Godlove, her grandson Charles Leo Godlove, his wife Nicolette Godlove, great-granddaughters Mina (and Kyran on the way) Godlove, and niece Marilee Tolen. She also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Johnny, Henry and George P. Haley and 5 sisters, Margeret Rummell, Jean Morris, Ruth Armbruster, Helen Haley and her identical twin sister, Mary J. Tolen. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for and visited Rita during her last few months.
