Rachel Lynn Anderson, 26, of Roscoe, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. Born May 29, 1983, she is the daughter of Rebecca L. Gosney Anderson of Roscoe and Richard C. Anderson of California. She was a graduate of California High School and Laurel Business Institute from where she received a degree as a Medical Assistant. Rachel attended the Christian Center Church in Rostraver Twp. and enjoyed boating, jet skiing, arts and crafts, painting rocks, taking walks, camping, helping the elderly and seeing those around her happy. She especially enjoyed coloring and spending time with her daughter, Jordyn Lei Cruse. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her parents, Rebecca L. Anderson and Kevin Waltz of Roscoe, Richard C. Anderson and wife Cindy of California; sister, Laura Anderson; grandparents, Eleanor Anderson and Nora Lou and Charles "Chick" Gosney; niece, Hailey May Sholtis; aunts and uncles, Cheryl and Bill Matheson, Lenora and Fred Neil, Norman Jr. and Dani Jo Anderson, Dale and Kim Gosney, and Nick and Cindy Gosney; cousins, Crystal Anderson, Hanna Matheson, Amanda and Jennifer Neil, Jim Gosney, Kristen Sullivan, Kimberlee Ashley, and Joshua Gosney; second cousin, Wyatt Blair Ashley, Gaege Alexander and Raleigh Kay Sullivan; and her very close friend, Samantha Neil. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Norman "Bucky" Anderson. The funeral home will be open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held Monday, March 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Burgan presiding. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
