Nicholas White

Nicholas White, 87, of Monessen passed away Wednesday May 15, 2024 at The Hallsworth House care home. Born January 18, 1937 to the late Nicholas and Anna Madzy White in Charleroi. Nicholas served proudly in the United States Army during the Cuban Crisis. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, and was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church and the Golden Agers of Monessen.

Left to cherish his memory are a sister; Sonia Knapp of Monessen, niece; Julene Vidic, great-nephews; John Alexander Vidic, Alexander Vidic, and cousin Paul (Adele) Dzadyk. In addition to his parents, Nicholas is also preceded in death by his brother John White, infant sister Anna Marie White, and brother-in-law Howard Knapp.

Visitation will be held at Melenyzer Funeral Homes, Inc. 825 Fallowfield Ave. Charleroi, on Sunday May 19, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm with parastas beginning at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 20, 2024 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church with Fr. Stephan Gresh. Interment will follow at Charleroi Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
