Mildred Stites

Private services were held Tuesday for Mildred (Zuraw) Stites 98, of Charleroi, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2008. She was born Nov. 16, 1909, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Akin and Anna Kiewech Zuraw. She was Orthodox by faith. A former resident of Michigan, she married Pearl "Ross" Stites on June 18, 1945. Before retiring, Mildred was employed as a waitress at the Detroit Boat Club. Survivors include a sister, Helen Bohlander; and a niece, Sandra Conrad, both of Charleroi. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Peter, George and William Zuraw. Graveside services will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, Ind. Arrangements were handled by the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.
