Mr. Troyan was the principal at Bentworth High School when I began teaching there in 1972. I did not take long to really appreciate what a good person and principal he was, considering his many years of classroom teaching and coaching that he drew on to be a teacher's teacher. I very much appreciated his time as principal and later as assistant superintendent, bringing his years of experience and local knowledge to help direct the course of education in the district. There were/are few like him, and many of these are overlooked because of their patience and dealings in the education system. May God bless you and keep you in His hand and heart, you, His servant, Michael Troyan. Howard Fields

I had been thinking of Mr. Troyan lately. He was my science teacher at Fallowfield School. It was a difficult time in my life. Mr. Troyan was one of the (very) few teachers who treated me with any degree of kindness. I never forgot this, partly because the same year, I had another teacher who ridiculed me regularly in front of the other students. Mr. Troyan's class was a safe haven for me. His family was blessed to have a man like him in your lives, as I was blessed to have him as a teacher.
