Martha Bailey

Martha L. Bailey, 80, formerly of Elco, died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Residence at Hilltop, Carroll Township. Born in Washington, Pa., Dec. 10, 1933, she was a daughter of Wilfred and Alberta Gray Lawson. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Church, Charleroi for over 50 years. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Dave Doctorick of Belle Vernon; a son and daughter-in-law, John and JoAnn Bailey of Coal Center; a brother, George Lawson of Bethel Park; and three grandchildren, Dana Doctorick of Washington, Pa., Nicole Doctorick of Baltimore and D.J. Doctorick of Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Bailey on Sept. 10, 2012; and a baby girl, Diane Lynn Bailey on Feb. 13, 1970. Mrs. Bailey adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved going to the casinos, especially Atlantic City and Las Vegas and was an avid Steelers fan. Her favorite hobbies were shopping, playing bingo and collecting angels. There was no public visitation. Private funeral services were held Friday August 29, 2014 at Holy Ghost Byzantine Church with the Rev. James Ragan as celebrant. Interment followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery. The MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, were in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Byzantine Church, Charleroi.
