Lois Jane Henderson, 89, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully in Flo's Personal Care Home on Friday, May 29, 2009. She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in California, Pa., a daughter of the late John B. and Kathryn Maxon Trettel. Lois was a 1936 graduate of California High School and married William J. Henderson in 1939. They resided in Roscoe until their deaths. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed many activities such as painting, as a past officer of the Charleroi Garden Club and a life member of two card clubs. Lois and her husband traveled to many local trap shooting meets. She was a member of the Roscoe PTA and served as Cub Scout den mother. Survivors include three children: Patricia (Edward) Steckler of Sandy Lake, Mercer County, Cindy (Bob) Guiler of Roscoe and William (Gloria) Henderson of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren: Carey and Casey Steckler, Robin Quigley, Scott (Megan) Guiler, B.J. (Angie) Henderson, Chris (Missy) Henderson, Devon (Steve) Seeley, and Tony Henderson; 10 great- grandchildren: Summer Ann Quigley, Kaitlyn, Caleb and Liam Henderson, Cody and Ashleigh Henderson, Danyel, Kaitlyn, Sean and Tyler Seeley; and a brother Leo Maxon Trettel of Orlando, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, on April 19, 1999; and two brothers, Robert V. Trettel and John B. Trettel, Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, in the MELENYZER-DUBARR FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC. of Roscoe. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 2, with a blessing service at 9:45 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father George Moneck officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
