Leopold Rowland Vilsack 85 of West Brownsville passed away on Tuesday April 29, 2025 at his home. Born in Pittsburgh on November 10, 1939, a son of Leopold V. and Kathleen Oats Vilscack. Leopold was retired from General Ionics. He was a member of Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Leopold is survived by a son James (Betty) Vilsack of Wilkins Twp., 2 daughters; Kellie (Daniel) Maybury of Monroeville and Kimberly (Matthew) Cole of Braddock Hills, a stepson James Kieffer of Pittsburgh, 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and the mother of his children Bonnie Vilsack of Braddock Hills. He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen Vilsack, and his life partner Jeanne Kieffer. Friends will be received on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 9am-11am at Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi where a Blessing Service will be held at 11am followed by interment at Lafeyette Memorial Park Brier Hill.
