Jessie G. Watkins

Jessie Gauden Watkins, 71, of Daisytown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2013. A daughter of the late Elijah T. and Jessie David Gauden, she was born July 7, 1941, in Vestaburg. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Jeff Watkins and wife, Lynn; daughters, Cheryl Meredeth and husband, Tom, Toni Watkins Hunt and husband, Don, and Lisa Synuria and husband, Paul; brothers, Albert Gauden and wife, Ruthie, Sidney Gauden and wife, Karen, Ira Gauden, and Elijah Gauden; and 11 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Anthony Watkins on Oct. 25, 1995; brothers, James, George, and Houston Gauden; and a sister, Anna Marie Gordon. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, with Rev. Candace Cook of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
