Jean Arlene Melenyzer

Jean Arlene Melenyzer, 87, of Fallowfield Twp, passed peacefully Monday, December 29, 2008 in the Mon Valley Hospital. She was born April 15, 1921 in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Perry Floyd and Estella Marie Carson Morris. When health permitted, Jean was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, the Fallowfield Grange, the Irish Ridge Club and numerous Card Clubs. While caring for her family and friends, Jean also worked many years as secretary/recorder for Auctioneers Albert DeVore and Hessy Reese. Survivors include a son: John P. (Jack) Kovach of Charleroi, a sister; Lois Walsilko of Portvue, Step-Children: Ruth Horn (William) of MO., and Keith Melenyzer (Beverly) of Charleroi, Many step-grandchildren and great-grand children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Kovach (1956), second husband; Russell Melenyzer, Sr., (1988), daughter; Carol Jean Morgan (1980), son, David P. Kovach, (2004), sister Mabel Polinsky, step-children: Marlene Tedesco and Russell Melenyzer, Jr. Friends will be received Thursday, Jan. 1, from 6-8, Friday 2-4 & 6-8 in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes, & Cremation Services, Inc., Roscoe. Funeral Service Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, 11:00 am with Pastors John Smith and Randy Landman of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Creek Cemetery.
