James C. Wergin

James C. Wergin, 61, of Webster, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Russell and Catherine Wilkinson Wergin, he was born February 12, 1950, in Belle Vernon. For many years Jim was the owner of J&W Contracting in Carroll Twp. In his spare time he liked to fish and to ride his Harley. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Betty "Cricket" Koster Wergin; two daughters, Roxanne and Jamie Wergin; a son, James Russell Wergin; five grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Zachary, Rosa, and Lena; one sister, Linda VanAsselt and husband, David; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Barry. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Home.
