James L. Porterfield

James L. Porterfield 74 of Rosoce, died Thursday August 16, 2018 at UPMC Magee. Born March 17, 1944 in Daisytown, a son of Sam and Thelma Dawson Porterfield. James was retired as a pipefitter/welder from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport after 35 years of service. He was a Vietnam Army veteran. James was a member of the Centerville American Legion and enjoyed fishing, golf, NASCAR, gardening and played baseball and softball. He is survived by his daughters Toni (Ed) Hartley of Daisytown and Leslie (Billy) Mauldin of Canton, NC, 7 grandchildren; Sierra, Lucas, Aaron, Skylar, Ethan, Jordan and Morgan, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister Cheryl Jurik of Daisytown and 2 brothers; Sam Porterfield of Monongahela and Barry Porterfield of Bedford, and a step-daughter, Donna Davis of Roscoe. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley A. (Davis) Porterfield. There will be no public visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at Lafayette Memorial Park for a graveside service at 10:30am on Wednesday August 22, 2018.
