Helene Rakosky

Helene Rakosky, 88, of Coal Center, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007. She was born April 16, 1919, in Fayette City, a daughter of the late John and Anna Sukus Rakosky. She was Protestant by faith, a former telephone operator for AT&T in New York, a former employee of Stouffer's Restaurant in Pittsburgh, and she was very active in Christian Ministries. Survivors include two sisters, Ann Sotack, of Bentleyville, and Steffania Gregorie, of Chico, Calif.; a brother, Carl Rakosky, of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Andrew and Joseph Rakosky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, the hour of service with Pastor John Smith officiating. Interment will be in Maple Creek Cemetery. The ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES, INC., Roscoe (724-938-9323), is in charge of arrangements.
