Helen Hotochin Sabo Andreskovich 95 of N. Charleroi passed away with her family by her side on Sunday March 12, 2017 at Ligonier Gardens, Ligonier, PA. Born in N. Charleroi on April 29, 1921, a daughter of the late George and Mary Pushkar Hotochin. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi. Helen devoted her life to helping others. She was employed for many years at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. She and her first husband Andrew M. Sabo owned and operated Sabo's Roofing, Tinning and Hardware Store. They also had a family business in which they dispensed and sold soft drinks to the Monessen and Allenport mills of Wheeling -Pittsburgh Steel. Helen worked several summers at Redd's Beach in Fallowfield Twp. Years later she was affectionately known as "Mrs. A" to many preschool children at the Mon Valley YMCA and the New Adventure Learning Center when she worked countless hours nurturing the children. She was an avid bingo player at the Lock 4 Fire Hall.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Joyce (William) Miller of Ligonier and Andrea Wilson of Belle Vernon, granddaughters Michelle Miller (Jeff) Kotula, Raquel (Sean) Virgili, Natalie (Brian) Pflueger, Shellie (Anthony) Siwiak and Kellie (William) Welsh, 14 great-grandchildren Malley and Maeve Kotula, Levi and Aspen Virgili, Anthony, Aaron, Andrew and Abigail Siwiak and Aleah (Imran) Naseer, Mekenzie, Lauren and Brylee Pflueger and Liam and Sydney Welsh. Helen also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Preceded in death by her first husband Andrew M. Sabo in 1967 and her second husband Paul Andreskovich in 1987, 2 brothers John and George Hotochin and 2 sisters Ann Olexo and Mary Suchy, a son-in-law David Wilson and grandson-in-law Ronald Koziel.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 15, 2017 from 4pm-7pm in the Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi where a blessing service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday March 16 with Rev. Gerald Mikonis officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp
