Helen Augustine

d. March 25, 2011

Helen Augustine, 87, of Charleroi, formerly of Monongahela, joined her loving husband, Joseph "Augie" Augustine, in heaven on Friday, March 25, 2011. A daughter of the late Louis and Valeria Zybert Grajewski, she was born February 13, 1924, in New Jersey. Always wanting to have her family and friends bring a pizza pie to her apartment, Helen enjoyed watching all of the major news programs to stay in touch with the world events. Even after being in the Mon Valley for all of her adult life, Helen never lost her New Jersey accent. She always enjoyed going to the laundry room at the Char-House to meet and talk with her many friends. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church in Charleroi. Left to cherish the many memories are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Michele Augustine of Monongahela; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and David DuBarr, of Roscoe; three grandsons, Jeffrey Costantino, of Adena, Ohio, Joseph Costantino, of Monongahela, and Chad DuBarr, of Charleroi; a great-granddaughter, Makenley; a sister, Genevieve Gamarello, of New Jersey; a special nephew, John "Butch" Sturlese, of Monongahela; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Mikeal, Joseph, and Stanley Grajewski; three sisters, Jean Sturlese, Anne Damalewski, and Irene Grajewski. Friends will be received Sunday, March 27, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 28, at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church with Rev. Gerald S. Mikonis officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
