Georgiana Dean, 96, of Roscoe, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Born November 3, 1915, in Coal Center, she was the daughter of the late Jonah and Sarah Clendanial Winfield. She was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church, a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Long Branch Grange and, for many years was the assistant manager at the former Kenny's Children Shop in Charleroi. Mrs. Dean is survived by a son, Robert D. Dean and his wife, Charlotte, of Roscoe; a daughter, Sharon Zeh, of Monongahela; five grandchildren, Shari Ann Dean, Robert D. Dean Jr. (Cathy), George W. Zeh II, James Zeh and Vicki Zeh Crucher; two great grandchildren, Christie and Ryan Dean; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Dean, on Feb. 29, 1988; brothers, Lewis, Jonah Jr., Roy, Charles "Sonny" and Lloyd Winfield; and sisters, Mary Jane Ludwig, Alpharette Weight, Louise Rankin, and Marge Eickhorn; and a son-in-law, George Zeh. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, and from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Roscoe United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Carroll presiding. Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service in the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by the Long Branch Grange at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Roscoe United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 507, Roscoe, PA 15477.
