George Clayton (Clay) Hamilton, 70, of Roscoe, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on July 15, 2010. He was born April 17, 1940, the son of the late Carl M. and Ruth (Hall) Hamilton. He was a graduate of California High School Class of 1958 and Clarion University Class of 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea as an Administration Specialist. Clay worked for many years for the County of Washington as the Director of Buildings and Grounds from where he retired. He was a member of the Blainesburg Bible Church, the Roscoe Lions Club, and WACOM Radio Club in Washington, PA. Clay is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Claudia (Matuck) Hamilton; his children, Jeffrey C. (Renee) Hamilton, Jonathan C. (Heather) Hamilton, both of Washington, PA, Carla G. (Charles) Anderson of New Castle, Cathleen R. (Dana) Basham of Washington, PA, and Ruth Ward of Connellsville; grandchildren Richard, Carletta, Dannyelle and Allison Neely, Dion and Erica Holmes, Cassandra and Jessica Yerger, James and Tayanna Hamilton, Anthony, Ashlee, Aaron and Austin Hamilton, Lori, Michelle, Michael and Dakota Hamilton and Claudia Ward; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Clay was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl M. Hamilton, Jr. The family will receive friends at Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc, 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, July 19, at 6 p.m. with Pastor David Benner of the Blainesburg Bible Church presiding. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
