Elizabeth M. (Ruday) McCain, 85, of Monongahela, formerly of California, passed away peacefully in Mon Valley Hospital on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. A daughter of the late William and Verona Ruday, she was born on June 2, 1925, in Vestaburg. Before retiring, she worked for 25 years as a cafeteria worker at California University of PA. Mrs. McCain enjoyed her grandchildren, playing bingo, going to the Meadows and freely expressing her views and opinions. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hixenbaugh and husband William, of Elco, and Rosemarie Baer and husband George, of Monongahela; four grandchildren, Amy Sutts and husband Frank, Daniel Hixenbaugh and wife Lori, Lindsay Zimmerman and husband Jeffrey, and Tina Marie Bolin; a step granddaughter, Christine Corrado and husband Ronald; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Sutts, Darrell & Donovan Bolin, Autum & Samuel Zimmerman, Nicholas Hixenbaugh, and Sara Arthur; step great-grandchildren, Jordan & Alyssa Corrado; and one brother, Andrew Ruday; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCain is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, (March 9, 1998); a sister, Julia Murn; and brothers, Michael, Lewis, William, and James Ruday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
