Surrounded by his loving family, Edgar L. Kane, 69, of Roscoe, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. A son of the late Benjamin and Donna Mills Kane, he was born Jan. 21, 1943, in Waynesburg. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, where he worked as an electrician. Edgar was a member of Monongahela Valley Lodge No. 461 of the Free & Accepted Masons and enjoyed talking on his ham radio, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Left to cherish the many memories of Edgar are his wife, Linda Lutes Kane, of Roscoe; daughters, Wendy Kane Miller and husband, Jim, of California, Pa., and Lanie Kane Bilitski and husband, Brad, of Roscoe; and his grandchildren, Brooke and Benjamin Bilitski and Eilish Miller. A memorial service honoring Edgar will be held at a later date at the First United Methodist Church in Roscoe. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe. The family would also like to thank Hospice Care of Washington Hospital for the outstanding care and support they provided in their time of need.
The memorial service for Ed will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Roscoe.
