Dorothy McCloy

Dorothy McCloy 99 of Stockdale passed away on Sunday March 26, 2023 at Dunlevy Gardens. Born in Smithfield, PA on October 9, 1923, she was the daughter of Mike and Minnie Dokish Savage and was the last of her immediate family.

Dorothy was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Masontown, a life long member of the Stockdale VFD Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Roscoe American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. Dorothy retired from Corning Glass with 10 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking and loved canning until the age of 96.

Dorothy is survived by her son Gary “Peanuts” McCloy of Stockdale, a daughter Cindy (David) Lehr of Speers, 10 grandchildren; Kellie, Grant, Morgan, Bryan, Holly, Garret, Mindi, Adam, Steven and Scott, and 13 great-grandchildren; Harlie, Evan, Braden, Noah, Blake, Sophia L.,Peyton, Landon, Kolton, Josalyn, Michael, Frankie and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her husband Grant “Buster” McCloy, 2 sons; George “Rusty” McCloy and Larry McCloy and 7 brothers; George, Metro, John, Paul, Sam, Joe, and Peter and 3 sisters; Helen, Rose and Joan.

Visitation and funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Howe Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc. 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe.
