Surrounded by her loving family, Audrie L. Malmgren, 87, of Roscoe, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011, in Justine's Personal Care Home. Born in Belle Vernon on October 1, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Grace Mae Kifer Gibson. Mrs. Malmgren was formerly employed by the California School District where she worked for 27 as the superintendent's secretary before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church and the German-American Club in Matlacha, Fla. She was an excellent knitter who always enjoyed making sweaters for her family. Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Mrs. Malmgren are a daughter, Linda Miller and her husband, Randy, of Acme; sons, Ronald Malmgren and his wife, Joann, of Washington, Pa, and Thomas Malmgren and his wife, Lois, of Blairsville; grandchildren, Julie Sulkowski and husband, Don, Kristine Yeater and husband Yancy, Jenna Kensey, Mike and Matt Dzadovsky and Terri Wytko and husband, Adam; great-grandsons, Jameson and Ethan Kutz, Lincoln Wytko and Benjamin Sulkowski; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J. "Smash" Malmgren, on May 17, 2001; a brother, John Gibson; and a sister, Catherine Moore. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Melenyzer-DuBarr Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Inc., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, and from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Roscoe Presbyterian Church with Rev. Candace Cook presiding. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
